We installed an automatic sprinkler system at Baulkham Hills High School’s main football field. A 159,000 Litre rain water tank was installed and is connected to the huge roof space over the basketball courts. This will save thousands of dollars in water each year (For every 100 square metres of collection area, 1,000L of water is collected for every 10mm of rainfall), and at the same time prevent clean water being fed into the storm water system. A float switch is installed feeding off mains water to ensure the tank has the minimum quantity of water required to run through a cycle once the water level in the tank is too low.

We installed a pump capable of delivering the large flow and pressure required to irrigate the field in a short window just before the sun comes up.

Hunter I 25 6″ Stainless steel sprinklers were installed at head to head spacing on the field, delivering perfect coverage.

This system also has a flow sensor to alert us if there is a problem with the flow being either too high or too low due to a valve being stuck on or jammed, or a broken pipe. It also has a weather station to automatically adjust run times based on temperatures. During hot weather it will increase run times, during cooler weather it will reduce run times, and it will shut the system off after sufficient rain has fallen.

All this is monitored with Weathermatic Smartlink which allows us to control and monitor everything from any internet enabled device such as a phone, tablet, or PC.
